The Tradition Continues
The history of the Bongiorno name begins in 1949, when Alexander J. Bongiorno went to work for Herb Ring Jewelry in the David Stott Building located in downtown Detroit. After learning the craft of fabricating jewelry by hand, as well as gem setting, Alexander J. Bongiorno went on to open his own store, creating his own distinctive style of jewelry...a twist on the Classics.
The 1970's saw the opening of the Bongiorno store in Troy's Northfield Financial Tower. In the 1980's, the store relocated to Somerset in Troy, Michigan, and in 1990 moved to the lobby of the Columbia Center in Troy, Michigan where it remains today.
Since 1949, Alexander J. Bongiorno has created award winning jewelry using old world craftsmanship and an artist's hand. His high standard for fine quality and eye for good design are benchmarks that remain today, sixty years later, at the hands of his children, Alexia, David, Julie and Michael. The tradition continues.
With over 130 years combined, at the jewelers' bench, the Bongiorno family has provided creative jewelry solutions for clients whose needs and wants are not found at the usual jewelry store.
